Lancaster High School’s FFA club provided the following January FFA Newsletter by Spencer Swartz on January 31, 2025.

January Meeting
During the January meeting, the Lancaster FFA chapter passed new business, split into committees, and ended with a recreation activity. The company that passed this meeting was paying for banquet supplies, class donation awards, and all spring CDE expenses. After committees, our recreation activities included the snowman-building game and our hot chocolate social!
Women’s Shelter Clothing & Supply Drive
During December and January, the Lancaster FFA chapter held donations for the local women’s shelter. The donations could range from clothing to household supplies like toilet paper and personal hygiene products. All Ag classes were able to provide donations and they will be taken to the women’s shelter in the next couple of weeks!
Officer Books
Through November, December, and January our Reporter, Secretary, and Treasurer had to complete officer books for our chapter. These books are an essential part of our mission to be successful as a chapter,

these were our first officer books in TEN YEARS! The book for the Reporter includes photo snapshots, newsletters/articles, and social media posts. Our Reporter, Spencer Swartz, earned Silver this year. The secretary’s book includes meeting agendas, officer reports, and committee reports. Our Secretary, Casper Allen, achieved gold this year.
Lastly, the Treasurer’s book includes receipts from purchases the chapter made and donations received this year. Addyson Brown, our treasurer, received gold this year. These officers will be recognized on stage at the State FFA Convention in May.
Fundraisers
The Lancaster FFA Chapter is organizing two fundraisers from January 28th to February 21st. The first fundraiser is a strawberry sale. We will be selling 8-quart containers of strawberries for $22 each. The second is a Crumbl Cookie fundraiser, running concurrently with the strawberry sale. Proceeds from both fundraisers will support chapter activities and the banquet. Please reach out to Mr. Thomas or any FFA member about purchasing items.
Drop the Mic
Drop the Mic is a public speaking competition for the county to prepare students for the public speaking CDE coming up. The Lancaster members who participated this year were Claire Loudon, Kendra Justice, and Mickey Sharpe. Louden will be competing on February 1st at Bloom Carroll.
These students including Naomi Randolph will be competing at the Fairfield County Sub District Competition on February 6th hosted by Fairfield Union. Please wish them luck as you see them in the hallways.
